premiere of the Charlie Chaplin comedy, The Gold Rush, a United
Artists picture. Many thousands, homeward bound
„after the play,“ surged about the Mark Strand to get a glimpse
of Chaplin when he arrived for the midnight performance.

TO want to go to any show four times, especially a screen
entertainment, is at least something in its favor, but
to be able to enjoy that picture as much, if not more, the fourth
time speaks still louder in the film‘s praise.“ (...)

something more hilarious than this picture, go to it a
second time, and perhaps you will come away looking forward
to seeing it again. We count looking at this production
on of the compensations for having to view so many unworthy
photoplays.“
