& GIANT CHAPLIN HEADS. Manager John McManus,
Loew‘s Midland, Kansas City, used a Chaplin
impersonator on „Modern Times“ and also worked
a variation of the slant by having men carry
giant cutout heads of the star about town. Picture and theatre
copy was lettered atop the famed derby.

Midland, Kansas City, Mo., secured several tieups
for himself on Kid Millions, one of which was with a music store,
whose ad plugged the hits from picture. Philco radio
ad mentioned date and typewriter company tieup resulted
in girls in lobby doing their stuff.

The other illustration above is the unique window planted
by Manager John McManus, Loew‘s Midland, Kansas
City, on Modern Times.
Display takes the form of a picture theatre with enlargement
of one of the scene stills made up to represent screen,
idea carried out with projector in rear. Figures in sportswear
watching the show made up the audience. Credits and
tiein copy were carried against black velvet background and
McManus reports it a great attention-getter.“
