MARY PICKFORD

Our Mary has grown up. No longer is she the wistful

adolescent of „Coquette“ or the hoyden of „Kiki.“

She is a woman of deep and lasting emotions – on the screen

now, as well as off. „Secrets“ marks the change – for

in „Secrets“ she is a passionate idealist who keeps her ideals,

let time do what it will. Now for a holiday with Doug!

yet only now sufficiently admired to find proper

exhibition, through the courtesy of United Artists. On this

occasion, Mr. Chaplin was among others as the

guest of Mr. Fairbanks and Miss Pickford at the dedication

of the latters‘ new tap-room.

& Mary Pickford

In the early part of „Secrets,“ in the sunbonnet and gingham

of a young pioneer woman of the West, Mary may

remind some of the folks of how she looked in the silent version

of „Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.“ For she doesn‘t look

a day older now than she did then. And how does she keep that „always-eighteen“ look? Back on page 20, she reveals

this secret of secrets! And there is a surprise in store for you

in „Secrets“ – for in the course of the picture she ages,

as she will never allow herself to do in real life!

„The guest“

Editorial content. „Chaplin in Production

      Again in Two Months

                                                          Hollywood, Feb. 27.

Charles Chaplin has been interviewing technical people

and making other preparations with the object of starting

a feature in two months.

Chaplin has two stories, a comedy and a drama,

but has not decided which to produce. Comedian plans to direct

the drama, which will be a silent. Comedy might star

himself. In this case it would be silent.“
