MARY PICKFORD REVEALS

      RIFT WITH FAIRBANKS

      Pickfair for Sale, Statement Says

Mysterious Noblewoman Said to Enter Actor‘s Life

From her Beverly Hills mansion, long a show

place and where she and Douglas Fairbanks have spent

many happy hours together, Mary Pickford,

„America‘s Sweetheart“ of filmland, yesterday announced

a separation of the couple is contemplated and

that „Pickfair“ is for sale.

Through a statement put out by a „personal representative,“

Miss Pickford in a few words summed up the story

of the rift which parts Hollywood‘s „most ideally married

couple.“

      Her statement read:

„It is true Pickfair is for sale and that a separation

between Douglas and me is contemplated. If there should

be a divorce the grounds will be incompatibility.

Beyond that there is nothing further to say.“

all parts of the world to Charlie Chaplin‘s gate.“ (...)

„He arises early and works out the schedule for the day,

and then, to keep himself fit, he often runs from

his home to the studio – a distance of five miles.“ (...)
